Turkish Airlines B777 Business Class | Istanbul to Hong Kong Trip Report (Chef Onboard!)

Flying can be an exhilarating experience, especially when you find yourself flying with a renowned airline like Turkish Airlines. Recently, I had the pleasure of traveling from Istanbul to Hong Kong in Turkish Airlines’ Business Class on their B777 aircraft. This trip not only exceeded my expectations in terms of service and comfort, but it also surprised me with a unique feature – a chef onboard!

As I settled into my spacious Business Class seat, I couldn’t help but admire the elegant and modern design of the cabin. The seats were configured in a 2-3-2 layout, providing plenty of privacy and space. They could be fully reclined to a flatbed position, ensuring a comfortable journey ahead. Each seat also featured a large personal screen, equipped with an extensive entertainment system that offered a wide range of movies, TV shows, and music.

One of the highlights of this flight was the presence of a skilled chef onboard. Turkish Airlines is known for its gastronomic excellence, and having a chef onboard only added to the overall experience. The chef took our orders and catered to our culinary preferences throughout the flight. The freshly prepared, gourmet meals were nothing short of extraordinary. From delectable appetizers to mouthwatering main courses and delightful desserts, every bite was a delightful surprise. The presentation of the food was also top-notch, ensuring a feast for both the eyes and taste buds.

Apart from the culinary experience, the level of service provided by the cabin crew was exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure passengers’ comfort. Whether it was refilling my glass of champagne or promptly responding to any requests, they provided service with a warm smile. The onboard comfort was further enhanced by the amenity kit, which contained all the essentials needed for a long-haul flight, including skincare products by renowned brands.

Now, let’s explore three fun facts related to this trip:

1. Turkish Airlines has won the “Best Business Class Onboard Catering” award for the last five consecutive years, further exemplifying its commitment to providing a premium dining experience in the sky.

2. Turkish Airlines is known for its iconic “Flying Chefs” program. As part of this program, chefs are specially trained to cater to passengers’ culinary preferences and prepare fresh, delicious meals right onboard the flight.

3. Istanbul Airport, Turkish Airlines’ main hub, offers a range of premium services for Business Class passengers, including a dedicated lounge with luxurious amenities, duty-free shopping, and even a golf simulator to keep passengers entertained before their flights.

Overall, my journey from Istanbul to Hong Kong with Turkish Airlines in their B777 Business Class was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I stepped onboard until I landed at my destination, I felt pampered, well-fed, and genuinely valued as a passenger. The presence of a chef onboard, exceptional service, and the airline’s commitment to culinary excellence truly distinguish Turkish Airlines from its competitors. Whether you are a frequent flyer or planning a special trip, flying Business Class with Turkish Airlines is an experience worth indulging in.

  1. Absolutely perfect flight from Istanbul - Hong Kong. Fantastic food, wonderful flat bed and attentive but not intrusive flight attendants. AND great value....such a second time with them and will always use in future

  2. I previously worked as a ramp agent at EDI Edinburgh International.
The Turkish daily flight was the single most unwanted assignment, one occasion the septic tank burst flooding the cargo hold with raw sewage.
Another, they had literally loaded a full spare wheel and tire into the main cargo hold along with the passengers luggage, bags around and ontop of.

  3. I flew Turkish Airlines business class MAN-IST-ICN in August 2018(A330/B773) while the hard product was a little dated 2-3-2 configuration. The service, especially the food was top-notch. Luckily, I didn't have someone next to me on the first leg, and on the second I moved to a free row, it was a lot cheaper and enjoyable than previous flights on Korean Air, whose hard product again is/was dated. I enjoyed the stopover in IST, 4 hours was plenty of time to enjoy the lounge at the old airport. That lounge was massive and very impressive, I'd love to check out the new airport and the facilities. I would say that I enjoyed Turkish Airlines over Emirates' business class product.

  4. It’ll be my first time on TA. Flying from Istanbul to Dulles in a week and I’ve chosen my seats already on TA app so I don’t end up in those middle seats!! 😀 don’t like the seating arrangements on this aircraft though.

  5. I flew with them two times in 2019. My first ever business class to Bali on B787. I love the catering, I think is the best. The second flight was also in business to Mexico City. Love them πŸ™‚ Flying with them this September to Sao Paulo, I hope they will offer the same catering by then πŸ™‚

  6. When i went to the UK i was lucky enough to fly in TK business class a few times, from Cyprus to Manchester while stopping in Istanbul, both lounge and the flight were great, flight espeically was pretty good, good seats, great food and enthusiastic crew turned my flights

  7. There are two matters that I wanted to make a comment first time in such a travel video ; first , I adored to see the sentence that Do&Co serves BEST food in the skies , however as second one , Turkish Airlines does not serve greek yoghurt while the origin of this word even comes from Turkish language to all other languages in the World .

  8. Wowww what a nice business class experience in Turkish airlines thank u sir luxury travel greetings from your solid fan viewer from The Philippines sir vhin πŸ‡΅πŸ‡πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’•πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ™πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

  9. I have flown business class TA from Dublin to BKK many times, the flights are very good but if you are stopping over in Turkey expect to be treated like shit, absolutely no manners and no special treatment whatsoever for business class passengers including no fast track...

  10. I recently flew business class. Their pandemic food service sucks. They are serving brown bag cheese sandwiches and a boxed sandwich. Plus their non pandemic service does not seem that great. I would recommend everyone to fly qatar airways to get your moneys worth. They did not have hot beverages either in their business class.
