1. Learjet 35A by FlySimWare
The sudden release of FlySimWare Lear 35A was a humdinger of a masterpiece. Modeled with input from real Lear 35 pilots, the handling and visual accuracy are remarkable. The only downside is the lack of some environmental system sounds, but it’s still a great product. Fun fact: The Learjet name comes from “Lear,” the last name of the creator, and the word “jet.”

2. Kuro 787-8 Dreamliner (freeware)
This is a perfect private jet conversion with beautiful liveries available. The flying quality is great, and it comes with its own sound set. Fun fact: The 787-8 is one of the most fuel-efficient aircraft, reducing emissions by 20 to 25% compared to previous models.

3. A2A Piper Comanche
This living, breathing airplane is a great addition to the sim. Its maintenance and treatment features make it a real standout. A Highly realistic and one of the most immersive aircraft to fly, its features like wearing and maintenance add to its allure.

4. Carenado Turbo Stationair 207
This spectacular looking airplane is great for short mountain strips and long-haul journeys. A versatile and popular aircraft typically used for passenger and cargo operations.

5. Black Square (Anything it does is amazing)

6. Felis 747-200 for X-Plane 11/12
This study-level classic 747-200 is the most realistic airliner ever used for any sim. The airliner is being appreciated highly for its realistic flying experience.

7. FSRealistic or XPRealistic for both sims
These programs are a must-have during sim sessions. Adding elements that were not incorporated in the native simulator versions, they provide an unparalleled level of immersion.

8. FSLTL live traffic injector for MSFS
FSLTL brings real-time traffic to the sim world, making the experience more realistic. The level of details, like contrails in motion, makes it a great immersion booster.

9. FS-ATC Chatter for both sims
FS-ATC Chatter plays realistic ATC chatter from around the world, bringing a level of realism to the sim that’s hard to find elsewhere. This adds to the realism of the flying experience.

2023 was a great year for flight sim enthusiasts—here’s to an even better 2024! Fun Fact: The term “humdinger” was popularized by American singers and comedians in the early 20th century.
